Türkiye-Syria Earthquake Relief Action from Taiwan
The General Association of the Scouts of China (Taiwan) Türkiye-Syria Earthquake Relief Project Phase I was Completed Successfully.
This week, the Scouts of China (Taiwan) cooperated with the Turkish Trade Office In Taipei, the Scouts of China Foundation (Taiwan), the Taiwan Provincial Scout Council, TT&T CO., LTD., and Taipei 360 Neihu Community Scout Group to donate 347 warm sleeping bags and 300 emergency blankets, a total of 42 boxes and nearly 600 kilograms of relief supply to the earthquake victims in Türkiye.
The donation was delivered to the Turkish Airlines warehouse yesterday (11 February) after sorting the goods and packing them. Today (12 February), they will be transported by Turkish Airlines to Ankara, the capital city of Türkiye, and delivered to the earthquake area.
Turkish Trade Office Representative Mr. Muhammed Berdibek and Deputy Representative Mr. Nurullah Ayvaz expressed their gratitude to Scouts of China (Taiwan) for their quick and efficient response. And the supplies have been packed and sent directly to the Turkish Airlines storage center in Taiwan and will be sent to Ankara today on Turkish Airlines.
Different cities and counties' scout councils of Taiwan have also launched various activities in this Scout Action. Taipei City Scout Council has launched a relief supply drive, and Kaohsiung City Scout Council has launched a fundraising campaign. Other scout councils from Taiwan also do their part to help the international community through various activities. The Turkish Trade Office In Taipei thanked the Scouts of China (Taiwan) for completing the collection of supplies and sending them directly to the airline's storage within a concise period.
Scouts are global citizens, and humanitarian relief is the responsibility of Scouting, in line with the Scout's Messengers of Peace philosophy.
Scouts of China (Taiwan) has also launched a fundraising campaign, and the fund will go through the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) donation platform to the Scouting and Guiding Federation of Türkiye and the Scouts of Syria to assist the community reconstruction work initiated by the Scouts there.
